The city of Meknes will host the second edition of the international scientific event organized by the Ibn Al-Jazari Center for Studies and Research, in cooperation with several national and international scientific, academic, and civil society organizations, ammonnews reported.
Titled “Quran Interpretation and Artificial Intelligence: Towards a Methodological Perspective and a Guiding Function,” it will take place on July 18 and 19, 2026.
This scientific gathering is placed within a new intellectual framework that acknowledges the centrality of the Holy Quran as the main source of guidance and legislation for the Muslim community, while at the same time consciously interacting with the developments of the age of artificial intelligence.
The conference aims to explore the potential of modern digital technologies in the service of Quranic interpretation within a scientific and ethical framework that preserves the sanctity of the Quranic text and upholds its fundamental principles and objectives.
The Meknes conference seeks to develop a valid methodological perspective for what is known as “smart interpretation”, based on the combination of the heritage of traditional interpretation with artificial intelligence.
In addition to creating an international research network that brings together universities and specialized scientific centers, this perspective aims to develop a global charter for the ethics of artificial intelligence in Quranic studies.
